Registrar’s Report 21st May 2020
During the past year, we have gained information on a number of cars that were previously unknown to the Register. We now hold information on a total of 1,226 “live‟ cars worldwide an increase of 8 on last year’s figures.
The total number of cars on record amounts to 1,966 and we can confirm that of this number, 176 are regarded as being dead, which is 10 less than last year. The remaining 564 cars are hopefully resting, awaiting discovery and are currently unclassified. Who knows? There have been 10 cars that have changed ownership.
The accuracy of the information we hold is not always consistent with the current status of individual vehicles. It is possible that, over the period since the Register was formed, some of the cars listed as “live” may no longer be so.
On our database, cars are given a “live” designation where information has been received since 1991 when the Register gained its independence from the T Register. “Live” does not necessarily mean that the car is roadworthy. It may be awaiting or undergoing restoration.
