For once the sun shone and Silverstone MG90 enjoyed a superb weekend of both weather and all things MG. This year the registers and centres were given back their whole Marquee and they did it proud with some excellent displays. The Y Register stand played its full part, sporting our new banner and Jerry’s superb YT. Sales of regalia and spares were brisk at times and it was great to talk to so many past and present Y owners. Hopefully we enthused some future owners as well.
This year being a celebration of 90 years of MG, a Time line of 90 MGs was a spectacle to behold and a credit to Dennis Wharf and his team for its organisation. Only one car struggled to make it there on the first day and was quickly replaced with a sub. Peter Stevens and Bill Bennett displayed their gleaming YAs on Saturday and Sunday and Neil Cairns and myself our YB and YT so Ys were fully represented. Over the weekend I counted at least 10 different Ys at the show.
I took some friends on the Sunday and they all commented on what a great day they had had. If you have never been, maybe it’s one for you to experience next year.

Congratulations to Neil Cairns,
At last week’s MG90 celebration Andy Knott the editor of Safety fast Magazine presented Neil with the Wilson McComb trophy for services to Safety Fast. We must have all at one time benefited from Neil’s prolific writings so can I on behalf of the Y Register also add our thanks to him.
