History & Notes.
A Brief History of Y 0543, MG 7217.
MG Y0543 joined the Pardee family on New Year’s Day 1977. She had come from Abingdon, England, where 2 of her 3 former owners had been employed at the MG works.
In 1992/1993 she under went a frame -off restoration. Paint, upholstery, and major machine work were subcontracted; all other work was done by the Pardee family. 75 bags of sandblast sand were consumed; 370 sandwich bags of fasteners were cleaned by son Nick, 12 years old.

Within 7 months, the Y-type was complete and as a zero-mile restoration, set off on the New England MG ‘T’ Register “Skyline Soiree” tour from Front Royal, VA to Gatlinburg, TN via the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. She performed flawlessly.
Since 1977, we have covered almost 90,000 miles in Y 0543, winning numerous class and best of show wins. In 2012, a mechanical freshen was completed, and since then she has been to Gathering of the Faithful South in Orlando, and MG 2012 in the Georgia mountains. In January 2013, she has been to Cedar Key for lunch, Fernandina Beach and the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia, and to the Deveraux Show in Venice, FL, almost 1,400 miles in the month.
